With over 40 years of experience, Mike Stovell brings unmatched expertise to the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those affecting the lower limb — from the foot and ankle, through the knee, and up to the hip. His clinical interest also extends to shoulder dysfunction, lower back pain, and detailed movement and motion analysis.
Mike is one of Australia’s most uniquely qualified clinicians, holding dual qualifications in both physiotherapy and podiatry — a combination that gives him a distinct advantage in assessing and managing the musculoskeletal system from a full-body perspective.
His extensive postgraduate training includes:
- Orthopaedic Manual Therapy
- Advanced Sports Rehabilitation
- Currently completing a Master’s in Sports Medicine
Mike has served on the Curriculum Committee for the Curtin School of Physiotherapy, supervised both undergraduate podiatry and postgraduate sports physiotherapy students, and played a key role in documenting the history of physiotherapy in Western Australia for the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s centennial celebrations.

A pioneer in motion analysis, Mike was among the first in WA to use computerised gait assessment (since 1986), and he’s excited to launch the next generation of motion analysis technology in September 2025.
As an added creative note, Mike is also the author of an upcoming children’s book: “Quade the Quokka and the Quest for Quiet.”
