Bulk Billing And Injury Claims in Perth

hand signing formsSorting out paperwork after an accident or workplace injury can feel like a second job. Forms, claim numbers, approvals, and fee schedules can all add up quickly. That’s why clear guidance matters.

For eligible patients, chiropractic care may be funded under ICWA or Workers’ Compensation schemes. Our team can help you understand what’s required, what may be covered, and how billing works, so you can focus on getting back to daily life.

ICWA Motor Vehicle Injury Claims in WA

The Insurance Commission of Western Australia, ICWA, supports people injured in motor vehicle accidents on WA roads. If your injury resulted from a crash and another driver was at fault, you may be able to claim approved chiropractic services through ICWA. You may be eligible if you were a driver not at fault or a passenger in the vehicle.

ICWA may fund reasonable and necessary services related to your injury, which can include chiropractic consultations, imaging where clinically indicated, and other allied healthcare. Fees are paid according to ICWA’s schedule. If a clinic’s private fee is higher than the scheduled rate, a gap payment may apply.

A medical referral is not always required to begin care, although your claims officer may request documentation. It’s best to confirm approval directly with ICWA before your appointment.

In some cases, you may pay on the day and submit receipts for reimbursement once your claim is accepted. Direct billing to ICWA may be available where approval is in place.

Workers’ Compensation and WorkCover WA Claims

Workplace injuries, from lifting incidents to repetitive strain, may also be managed under a Workers’ Compensation claim.

You may qualify if:

  • The injury occurred at work or because of your work duties
  • A GP has assessed your condition and recommended chiropractic care
  • A valid claim has been lodged and accepted by your employer’s insurer

For Workers’ Compensation, a GP referral is required before billing can be directed to the insurer. This helps coordinate your care plan and ensures it aligns with WorkCover WA guidelines.

Once approved, the insurer generally pays according to the WorkCover WA fee schedule. If there is a difference between the schedule and private fees, a gap may apply.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

To keep things smooth, please bring your claim number and insurer details, any referral or certificate from your GP (if required), and relevant medical reports or imaging. If you’re unsure what’s needed, our reception team is happy to talk it through before you come in.

Clear Guidance, Straightforward Billing

Questions about eligibility, documentation, or fees are common, and that’s okay. We’ll explain how the process works and outline any potential out-of-pocket costs before care begins.
